While on my photography treasure hunts during the pandemic, I didn’t limit myself to façades – I loved searching behind the malls and other buildings for images that caught my eye. As easy as it was to stay physically distanced from others while shooting my other projects, it was even easier to be alone while sneaking around behind buildings.

I had a marvelous, up close and personal view of lost shopping carts, bins behaving badly, unintended pipe sculptures, colorful plastic curtains, and much more. These scenes take on a completely different mood at night.

Things are getting busy again in New Jersey, but I can safely say that I doubt I’ll be running into too many people when I continue looking for What Goes On Behind.
